About Job Corps
Job Corps is a no-cost education and training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps disadvantaged young people ages 16 through 24 get a better job, make more money, and take control of their lives. Funded by Congress, Job Corps has been training young adults for meaningful careers since 1964.
At Job Corps, you will learn a trade, earn a high school diploma or GED, and get help finding a good job. Job Corps will also help you find services for up to 12 months after you graduate from the program.
Job Corps gives you the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people, welcome new experiences, learn what to expect in the workplace and how to succeed in your chosen career fields.
Job Corps has centers in both rural and urban settings throughout the United States. Most students attend the center closest to their homes. Each center provides a variety of options in career choice, and focuses on developing employability and personal responsibility skills. You will also spend time working with staff on personal career plans and setting long- and short-term goals.
